    The CPD38 is a 4-wheel lithium electric forklift with a seated operator position and a rated capacity of 3,800 kg at a 500 mm load centre. Its configuration is suitable for moving heavy pallets, industrial components, raw materials and finished products between receiving, storage, production and dispatch areas. The standard 3,000 mm lift height allows loads to be picked up and deposited at floor level or at intermediate heights when the site’s storage levels are compatible.

    The 1,760 mm wheelbase and 4-wheel chassis contribute to stability during travel and lifting operations. The 80 V / 205 Ah lithium battery powers a 12 kW drive motor and an 18 kW lift motor. FHPS steering, integrated side shift, a mast providing a wider field of vision, an adjustable suspension seat and warning equipment facilitate repeated handling cycles. Ground clearance of 140 mm beneath the mast and 190 mm at the centre of the truck also facilitates certain transitions between surfaced areas with minor irregularities.

    Move up to 3,800 kg between receiving, storage and production

    The rated capacity of 3,800 kg at a 500 mm load centre is the main selection criterion for the CPD38. It allows heavier pallets to be handled than those generally assigned to a 3 or 3.5-tonne forklift. This additional capacity is useful when load weights vary between product references or when some pallets regularly approach the limits of lower-capacity equipment.

    In a receiving area, the truck can pick up a pallet after unloading, transfer it to an inspection point and then move it to its storage location. In a workshop, it facilitates the movement of raw materials, components or subassemblies between a reserve area and a production line. At the end of production, pallets of finished products can be moved to a buffer zone, quality control station or dispatch area.

    The rated capacity remains linked to a 500 mm load centre. A long, off-centre load or one with uneven weight distribution does not place the same demands on the truck as a compact, correctly centred pallet. Maximum weight, load depth, the support used and the position of the load centre must therefore be checked before validating the application.

    A 1,760 mm wheelbase for heavy-load transfers

    The CPD38 has a 1,760 mm wheelbase. This configuration prioritises stability when transporting and lifting heavy loads. It is suitable for workflows where repeated transfers between several areas of a site take priority over achieving an extremely short overall footprint.

    The mast uses a reinforced construction with a large-diameter lift cylinder, wider chains and carriage rollers suited to vertical movements. Lift speed reaches 300 mm/s with load and 420 mm/s without load. Lowering speed is 380 mm/s with load and 410 mm/s without load.

    Travel speed reaches 15 km/h both laden and unladen. This value facilitates the organisation of transfers when receiving, storage, production and dispatch areas are located some distance apart. Internal speed limits, pedestrian presence and visibility must nevertheless be incorporated into the traffic plan.

    Maximum tractive effort is 15 kN both laden and unladen. Maximum gradeability is 15% under the conditions associated with this value. Where a route includes a ramp, dock incline or level change, the length of the slope, surface condition and actual traffic conditions must also be checked.

    Organise heavy-pallet flows on loading docks and in workshops

    The 3,800 kg capacity allows the CPD38 to be integrated into several stages of the same industrial or logistics flow. In a receiving area, it can pick up heavy pallets after unloading and transfer them to an inspection point or storage zone. When supplying a production line, it facilitates the movement of raw materials, components or subassemblies from a reserve area to the relevant workstation.

    At the end of production, the truck can collect pallets of finished products and move them to a buffer zone, quality control area or dispatch. In an intermediate storage area, the 3,000 mm lift height allows compatible pick-up and deposit operations at this level. During dispatch preparation, the integrated side shift facilitates pallet positioning before loading.

    Transfers between a workshop, a covered building and a surfaced logistics yard are also possible when floor condition, gradients and traffic conditions are compatible. Pneumatic tyres and ground clearance facilitate certain transitions without turning the CPD38 into an all-terrain forklift.

    FHPS steering and side shift for accurate manoeuvring

    FHPS steering reduces the effort required from the operator during changes of direction and low-speed manoeuvres. It facilitates trajectory corrections near racking, machinery, columns or pallets already in storage.

    The integrated side shift then allows the position of the forks to be adjusted without repeating the entire manoeuvre when the truck is already positioned in front of the load. This correction is useful in areas where several pallets need to be positioned accurately.

    The turning radius is 2,540 mm and the lateral turning radius is 715 mm. To handle a 1,000 × 1,200 mm pallet positioned crossways, the CPD38 requires an aisle width of 4,225 mm. With an 800 × 1,200 mm pallet positioned lengthways, the required width increases to 4,425 mm. These values must be compared with the actual space available, particularly at rack ends and in areas where changes of direction are required.

    Overall length is 3,945 mm, including 2,875 mm to the front face of the forks. Overall width is 1,195 / 1,228 mm. These dimensions must be checked at doorways, around columns, in covered passages, crossing areas and shared traffic zones.

    The mast provides a wider field of vision, facilitating fork alignment with the pallet and load monitoring during vertical movements.

    An operator compartment suited to repeated operating cycles

    The CPD38 is operated from a seated position. The adjustable suspension seat limits the transmission of vibrations during travel and allows the driving position to be adapted when several operators use the same truck.

    The access step and grab handle facilitate repeated entry and exit. Seat height is 1,050 mm and overhead guard height is 2,150 mm. The latter value should be compared with industrial doors, covered passages and structures with restricted headroom.

    An LCD display is positioned within the operator’s field of vision. Panoramic mirrors improve visibility during changes of direction and reversing manoeuvres.

    The OPS system automatically blocks travel and lifting functions when the operator is not seated. LED lights improve visibility in less well-lit areas. A blue warning light alerts pedestrians to the approaching truck. An audible warning device integrated into the rear grab handle remains accessible when the operator turns to monitor the travel path.

    The service brake is hydraulic, the parking brake is mechanical and the sound level at the operator’s ear is 73 dB according to EN 12053.

    A standard 3,000 mm lift height to be checked on site

    The configuration presented has a 3,000 mm lift height and 150 mm free lift. The mast measures 2,170 mm when lowered and reaches 4,105 mm when fully extended. Mast tilt is 6° forward and 12° backward.

    These values allow three constraints to be checked: passage beneath low structures, pick-up or deposit height and the overhead clearance available when the mast is fully extended.

    The lowered mast height should be compared with doors, lintels and passages between buildings. The 3,000 mm lift height determines the accessible racking levels or deposit surfaces. The 4,105 mm fully extended mast height should be checked against ceilings, lighting, cable trays and other overhead equipment.

    If loads need to be deposited above 3,000 mm, this standard configuration is not suitable for the application. The 1,100 mm fork carriage width and 1,070 mm fork length should also be compared with the pallets and supports actually used.

    80 V / 205 Ah lithium battery and opportunity charging

    The CPD38 uses an 80 V / 205 Ah lithium battery weighing 130 kg. LiFePO₄ technology is combined with a BMS that monitors charging and discharging phases. Integrated thermal monitoring and high-voltage regulation contribute to supervision of the energy system.

    Opportunity charging allows the battery level to be topped up during available downtime, particularly during a break, between two work periods or during a shift change. This arrangement avoids having to wait systematically for a prolonged period of inactivity before recharging the truck.

    Energy management must nevertheless be adapted to the site’s actual operating rhythm. The number of operating hours, travel distances, lifting frequency and available downtime help determine when intermediate charging should be carried out.

    The drive motor develops 12 kW and the lift motor 18 kW. The traction and lifting controls use MOSFET / ACIM technology. The controller is type FJ-G2-80-05.

    Pneumatic tyres and ground clearance for transitions between surfaced areas

    The CPD38 is fitted with 28 × 9-15-14PR pneumatic tyres at the front and 6.50-10-10PR tyres at the rear. The configuration includes two driven front wheels and two rear wheels.

    Ground clearance reaches 140 mm beneath the mast and 190 mm at the centre of the truck. It facilitates travel over certain irregularities between different areas of a site, including floor joints, small level differences and transitions between a building and a surfaced logistics yard.

    Pneumatic tyres and ground clearance do not turn the CPD38 into an all-terrain forklift. Soft ground, significant potholes, major surface deformation, pronounced kerbs or side slopes require specific assessment.

    Service weight with battery is 4,600 kg. Floor slabs, loading docks, platforms and transition areas must therefore be compatible with the weight of the truck and the load being transported.

    Access to components for routine checks

    The motor cover is assisted by a gas strut and includes an integrated lock. Opening it facilitates access to the main components during inspection and maintenance operations. The front section of the chassis can also be opened without tools.

    CAN-bus architecture brings together information useful for diagnostics. An air filtration system limits dust ingress into the relevant areas, particularly when the truck operates in a workshop or close to activities that generate airborne particles.
